Floral Drawing in Pastels

Wednesday 9th April | 10:30am - 4:00pm

We are so pleased to have Debbie Hinks, a Brighton & Hove-based artist and art tutor, return to the Garden House.  Debbie is a brilliant and inspiring teacher for all skill levels, a professional illustrator for over 25 years and a life drawing tutor at Northbrook College in Worthing for the past 10 years.

Debbie will guide you step-by-step to developing technique and your own style.  Our inspiration will be flowers and foliage from the garden, working from photos but also working from life.

Working initially in charcoal to establish composition, then moving onto charcoal/white pastel to organise tonal ranges.  Then after lunch you will start working in Coloured Chalk Pastels (please bring your own), considering both flat pattern and the importance of cropping an image to create large, dynamic imagery.

Cost: £125, to include vegetarian lunch and refreshments

Date: Wednesday 9 April  / 10.30am – 4pm

PLEASE BOOK ONLINE. If you are unable to pay online, please contact us to find out about alternative ways of paying.

Venue: The Garden House, 5 Warleigh Road, Brighton BN1 4NT
