Intended in part as a follow-up to our beginners course which finished in July, this course will also appeal to those of you needing practical skills and advice to plan, manage and enjoy your own garden.
The Garden House is an organic garden promoting sustaining practices supporting biodiversity and wildlife.
Each session will have a particular focus, encompassing theory, practical hands-on experience and demonstrations, plus a talk about seasonal tasks and design of the garden.
September 25: Session one – use of colour, selection of bulbs and planting bulbs
October 9: Session two – talk about the principles of pruning, (when, where and how), plus sowing hardy annuals (for a cutting garden in 2025)
October 23: Session three – seasonal propagation of perennials and grasses (including division and root cuttings)
November 6: Session four – planting of indoor bulbs; weed management
November 20: Session five – Colour and interest over the winter, winter propagation (hardwood cuttings)
Cost: £240 to include a vegetarian supper with wine each evening, plus plenty of plants to take home.

CANCELLATION POLICY: We give a full refund (minus the Eventbrite administrative fee) if you cancel 8 weeks or more before an event, workshop or course. Should you need to cancel within 8 weeks and are unable to attend, we ask you to find a friend to take your place. To assist you, we will also try to find someone to take your place, but if this is not possible we will not be able to offer a refund.
