There is a great mystique around the world of pruning roses but in fact it is easy and much easier than most of the books make it out to be.
Join us for a day with rose expert Michael Marriott. Michael worked at David Austin Roses for 35 years as head Rosarian. During that time he became one of the world’s leading authorities on roses and designed many private and public rose gardens around the world. Michael grows many roses in his own garden, which is run on organic principles and has never been sprayed.
On Michael’s workshop you’ll be shown the basic theory behind all pruning which can then be adapted according to the type of rose, and most importantly what you want that rose to do in its position.
The day will also include advice on planting and how to keep your roses looking good and flowering prolifically. Participants will be able to practise on the many types of roses at the Garden House, with plenty of time for questions and answers.
Cost: £150 per person, to include vegetarian lunch and refreshments through out the day
Date: Wednesday 14 February / 10am – 4pm
